Slossan Intelligence Test
Who: The Slosson IQ is designed for a child with the chonological age of approximately 2-18 years or a mental age of 2.5-23 years.
What: The Slosson Intelligence Test is a cognitive aptitude assessment used to evaluate an individual's mental ability.
When: This assessment can be conducted as needed.
Why: This assessment provides an initial screening to estimate student's IQ.
How: The teacher is to have the test materials ready, such as the test manual, student scoring sheet, an extra sheet of paper for the student to use, and the norm tables. Before begknnig the assessment, the teacher is to determine the student's chronological age. The teacher will then begin testing the student either one year below or one year above their chronological age, depending on the knowledge of the student. The teacher will read the questions from the test booklet and record the student's response. The teacher will stop testing when the student has missed 10 items consecutively. The teacher will score the assessment to determine the student's basal age, mental age, and IQ.
